Shinto is the religion which was traditionally followed in Japan. It worships kami, meaning god or spirits, though the concept is a little complex and may not be expressed with a single word. Often natural powers, animals, war heroes, people who dead etc appear as kami. While the concepts are a little complex, absence of a clearly defined system and structure, gives the community a lot of flexibility.
