Tokyo 2020 is a synonym for Olympic Games 2020 and Paralympic Games 2020 which are scheduled to be conducted in Tokyo, Japan. This is second time Japan is hosting Olympic Games, since 1964.
Tokyo 2020 is scheduled to start from 22nd July 2020 though official opening ceremony is scheduled on 24th July 2020. Closing ceremony is planned to be on 09th August 2020.
Emblem of Tokyo 2020 is formed with 3 varieties of rectangle demonstrating unity in diversity. Miraitowa is the mascot for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Mirai means future and Towa means eternity in Japanese. Miraitowa passes the message from Japanese proverb “learn from the past and develop new ideas”.
Tokyo 2020 medal design will remind and reflect the shining that the champions brought in their skills through continuous hard work. Similarly, design of the Victory Medal Ribbon is done in such a way to use chemically recycled polyester fibres that produce less CO2 during their manufacturing process.
There is a great story to learn from Tokyo 2020 medal design. A significant amount of Gold, Silver and Bronze was collected from the mobile phones, electronic devices etc donated by Japanese people across the nation thereby carrying hopes of everyone.
Another event is Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay which starts Flame Lighting Ceremony in ancient Olympia, Greece on 12th March 2020.After passing this light to Japan, it relays through all prefectures, finally reaching Tokyo 2020 opening ceremony venue. Relay comes to my place, Tochigi, on 29th-30th of March 2020. I shall try my luck to see Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch because it might become a once in lifetime chance.
Tokyo 2020 venues are organized into Heritage Zone (sustains the enduring legacy of Tokyo 1964) and Tokyo Bay Zone (symbolises the exciting future of the city). These two zones expand across the city to form an ‘infinity’ symbol. Renovated National stadium was finally completed in November 2019, despite all controversial discussions over the design, cost etc.
As the world expects, Japan companies like Toyota, Panasonic etc come with a set of new Technology solutions to improve operational efficiency in the event. Introduction of Robots to assist wheelchair users, solutions to safely load heavy packages etc.
Domestic ticket sales are completed in 3 phases as lottery mechanism. Next phase is supposed to start from Spring of 2020. For overseas residents also tickets will be available at this timing through Authorized Ticket Resellers of corresponding regions or countries. Ticket price ranges from 2,020 JPY to 300,000 JPY, and the cheapest option is already sold out. In India, Fanatic Sports is the Authorized Ticket Reseller for Tokyo 2020.

Tourist VISAs are required for visitors from India and other countries for whom Japan have not given exemptions. Japanese government is planning to come up with eVisa for Olympic tourists. So, get ready and have fun!!!
