Tapioca is a very special food for Keralites and is one of the most favourite items which is missed, while living abroad. We found a location in Japan, Gunma Ken, Oura shi, where some Indonesian people cultivates and distributes Tapioca across Japan. Location and contact details are given in below Facebook page:-

Harvest season is from end of September to end of October, just 1 month every year. Their main customers are Brazilians and Philippines. Tapioca breed, according to those people, is of Okinawa origin.

Regarding the price, if the order is below 10 Kgms, 700 JPY/Kg + shipping charges will be charged. For orders above 10 Kgms, 500 JPY/Kg + shipping charges have to be paid.

We tried Tapioca with beef and fish. Tapioca quality was so good that it tasted just like what we have in Kerala.
