ജപ്പാനിലെ മലയാളി ഹോട്ടലിലെ പൊതിച്ചോറ്, പൊറോട്ടേം ബീഫും, മസാല ദോശ, മട്ടൺ ബിരിയാണി | Malayalee hotel in Japan, Pothichoru, Porotta & Beef, Masala Dosa, Mutton Biriyani

Curry Leaves is a South Indian, Malayalee Restaurant which is very close to Tokyo. See their site below:-

It is very hard to find a good South Indian, Malayalee restaurant in Japan, though options are growing. Curry Leaves is run by Azif, Jishad and Shafeeda. The biggest difference in approach is that the basic mantra is "homely". And the team`s lack of Restaurant experience contributes positively to hold and implement this mantra. You can sense that homeliness in the food.

We tried a handful of dishes and all were so authentic, fresh in taste which is not the case with other Indian Restaurants in Japan. Samoosa was so crispy where egg puffs were so fresh.

Kerala porotta set came with a couple of porottas, beef roast and chettinadu chicken curry. This combination is deadly for an average Malayalee. Awesome.

Mutton roast was so spicy to go with battoora/poori.

Malabar mutton biriyani was served in a clay pot and it smelled great. Needless to say, taste was also good.

They have a wide varieties of tea and is serves in pots we see in our homes back in Kerala. Masala Dosa with tea; Imagine the experience.

And finally, the biggest surprise of the day was pothichoru/podhichoru which is becoming a trend nowadays back in Kerala. And its so nostalgic for Malayalees. These people have recreated that experience in Japan and without loosing any essence of it. I would recommend any Malayalee to try it once.
